Linda L. Young, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on November 4, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on August 6, 1947, in Pennsylvania, Linda's life was marked by her unwavering love and dedication to her family.
Linda was a woman of strong will and determination, known for her stubborn nature and the lengths she would go to support those she loved. As a devoted member of the Tree of Life Ministries in Fairborn, she extended her care and compassion beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of many in her community.
She was married to her husband Kenneth Young for 57 cherished years. Together they raised four children: Robert (Marti) Dye and Michelle (Kirk) Whitaker, who were a source of pride and joy in her life. Linda was also a doting grandmother to Amanda (Chris) Smith, Chelsea Dye, Austin (Mandy) Dye, Derek Whitaker, and Witney Nichols. Her legacy continues with her great-grandchildren who brought her abundant joy, Gabrielle, Lynnlee, Caden, Jordynn, Brody, Brooklynn, and Mary Jane.
Linda took great pride in raising her children and contributing to the lives of her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Her family was her greatest accomplishment, and she found fulfillment in nurturing them and watching them thrive. When she wasn't busy with her family, she enjoyed sewing, reading, quilting and crocheting.
She is survived by her loving husband Kenneth, her children, her grandchildren, as well as her siblings: Norma Carpenter, Melvin Northern, Jerry (Sherry) Northern, Dorothy (Mike) Kelley, Jim Northern, Patty Northern, and Sandy (John) Saunier. She also leaves behind her special niece Kristy Northern and nephews Clayton Northern and Junior Brooks, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and extended family members who will miss her dearly.
Linda was preceded in death by her sons Melvin and David Young, her parents Robert Northern and Betty Howard Hurley, and her brothers Robert and Charles Northern, and Rick Hurley.
Linda L. Young’s steadfast spirit and commitment to her family will leave an enduring impression on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her love and dedication to those she held dear.
There will be a Memorial Service held at the Tree of Life Ministries, 420 W Funderburg Rd, Fairborn, OH 45324 on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at 6:30PM with Pastor Eric Meade officiating. Guests are welcome to arrive anytime after 6:00.
