Shirley A. "Memaw" Lauver

Shirley Ann (Denlinger) "Memaw" Lauver, age 92, of Miami Township, passed away Friday March 20, 2026, at the Wellington of Dayton. She was born on the family farmstead in Farmersville, Ohio, on October 14, 1933, daughter of the late Grace I. (Kemp) and Glenn Denlinger. She was a member of St. James Methodist Church in Miamisburg, Ohio. Shirley canned thousands of jars of fruits and vegetables, made hundreds of pies, decorated tens of cakes, and sewed a million miles on her sewing machine. She loved music, cats, dogs, flowers and family reunions. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Donald E. Lauver in 2003: a son, Edward E. Lauver in 2014; 3 brothers, Richard Denlinger, Donald Denlinger and Glenn "Gene" Denlinger; and her companion of 10 years, Gene Philabaum. Shirley is survived by her daughter Deborah (Richard "Dick") Sanderson; her son, Michael (Denise Bullock) Lauver; and her daughter-in-law, Joy Lauver; 6 granddaughters, April (Andy) Campbell, Aimee (Larry Stafford) Reeves, Leah Brewster, Alyssa Lauver, Angela (Adam ) Sarver, and Rachel (Dan) Walters; 8 great-grandchildren, Sydney, Rylee, Addison, Landon, Mia, Georgia, Brantley, and Zoey; numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank everyone at The Wellington and Day City Hospice who cared for Shirley. A special thanks to "Beth" who gave the most tender loving care to her in her last hours of life. In honor of Shirley, you are encouraged to wear spring colors. A Visitation will be held 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Thursday March 26, 2026, at the Dalton Funeral Home, 6900 Weaver Road, Germantown, Ohio, where the Funeral Service will follow at 12 p.m., with Andy Campbell officiating. The burial will be at Holp Cemetery, Farmersville, Ohio. Following the Committal Service the family will host lunch at the Carlisle Lions Club, 465 Park Drive, Carlisle, OH 45005.
