With deep sorrow, we mourn the passing of Ling Hu, who passed away on September 20, 2024 in Southlake, Texas, at the age of 58.

Ling was born on March 6, 1966, in Beijing, China, to Zhang Lide and Hu Junpeng. While attending the University of FuZhou, she met her husband, Shiqiang Wu. Upon graduation, Ling returned to her hometown of Xi'an to work as a research chemist. Over the next decade Ling and her family traveled the globe, creating memories and building circles of life in Arizona, Texas, and British Columbia, Canada. She was the backbone to the family through these years of great transition. Ling was a natural educator, and starting in 2008, she started teaching a wide range of topics in mathematics, including mental math, geometry, algebra, calculus, and beyond. She tackled each chapter in life with courage and enthusiasm, sharing her contagious smile and artistry in storytelling with every soul she touched. Ling loved to create masterful recipes and shared healthy yet delicious dishes with family and friends. Her innate sense of empathy, altruism, and kindness was evident in her dedication to family, students, and community.

She is preceded in death by her father Hu Junpeng, and survived by her husband Shiqiang Wu, children Yuefeng Wu and Lingfeng Wu, brother Hu Hao, sister Hu Wen, mother Zhang Lide, as well as numerous relatives and friends. She will be dearly missed by her students and her friends at Bedford Chinese Baptist Church.

A memorial service will be held to honor and celebrate the life of Ling at the Lucas Funeral Home- Chapel with live streaming on September 28, 2024, at 2:00 PM.
