Mrs. Linn Rena Harmon was born in
Eustis, FL on October 2, 1961, to the late Mr. Arthur and Mrs. Grace McCray. With solemn reverence, we celebrate the life of Linn Rena Harmon (
Eustis, Florida). Linn entered eternal rest early Sunday morning, January 25, 2026 at Advent Hospital,
Eustis, Fl. During the final hours of Linn's life, she was surrounded by her family/hospital clergy with love, scripture readings, singing, and her favorite music.
Linn and Cordell Harmon entered Holy Matrimony, January 25, 1982. Linn and Cordell welcomed three children into this union, Travis, Tarrance, and Aaron Harmon. Linn embraced four stepchildren to include: James Thomas Harmon, Cordell Harmon, Jr., Darren Moore, and Cynthia Hendix.
Linn graduated from Eustis High School, June 19, 1979. She attended various schools and colleges to include, Lake Sumter Community College, Vo-Tech (
Eustis, FL), Florida Cosmetologist School, where she received her Cosmetologist License,
Tallahassee, FL. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). After all the schools and volunteer work, Linn leaves a legacy of love, guidance, and support to her fellow co-workers. She worked in the OB/GYN Ward as a Licensed Practical Nurse helping many tri- natives with their children and grandchildren. After 37 plus years, Linn retired from Advent Hospital on December 20, 2023.
Linn received the Honor Walk at Advent Hospital, Saturday, January 24, 2026, honoring her as an Organ Donor. Linn's memory will live on in the lives of the many she touched to include the three organ recipients.
As a child, Linn became a member of Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church under the Leadership of Rev. Thomas Samuels. She was very active in her community being apart of the Eustis Women Softball Team. She was like the "Biblical Lady Lydia", loving her purple, working on her quilts, sewing garments, cooking, baking delicious pound cakes, and pies. She was a book lover, she loved to read and figuring things out. Linn attended Bates Avenue Elementary School where she remembered her Principal, Mr. Walter T. Simmons, Jr., the teacher's she remembered were Ms. Gwendolyn P. Harris, and Ms. Dorothea H. Rucker. She received a Perfect Attendance Award and Certificate of Graduation from Eustis Middle School, June 4, 1975. She was one of the children in the Eustis community that attended the early Pre-School Program.
Linn was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Cordell Harmon, her parents, Mr. Arthur and Mrs. Grace McCray, her sister, Mrs. Julia Mae Watkins, and her Maternal Grandmother, the Legendary, Mrs. Alaphair McNealy, and Grandfather Mr. Sam McNealy.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: Her three sons, Travis (Porsche), Tarrance, and Aaron. Her grandchildren are: Nyunna Harmon, Arriance Malai Harmon, Jah'zarie Harmon, and Maya Grace Harmon.
Linn siblings are: Jane A. Wright (Willie), Arthur Dwight McCray, Donna D. Watkins, and Wayne Watkins.
Her uncles and aunt, Mr. Horace McNealy (Bugman), Mr. Claudie McNealy, and Mrs. Josephine Nelson. A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Linn's Paternal Family includes: Her Grandparents, Mr. Gus McCray and Mrs. Jane Denson McCray. Her uncle, Leroy McCray (Mae Onie), her cousin, Mrs. Claudette Whitaker who lived in
Mt. Dora, FL, Mrs. Sallie Edmound, Mrs. Katie Hall, Mrs. Marie Jenkins (John Wesley Jenkins), Johnnie Marvin Jenkins, Mr. Arthur Lee McCray, Ernest Mahone, Marshall Mahone, Mr. Jack Jenkins lived in Georgia, and Mrs. Thelma M. Harmon lived in
Rochester, NY.
Linn loved traveling with her Uncle Roy and Aunt Mae Onie to Montgomery, Alabama every November for the Annual Classic Football game, and family holiday gathering at Uncle Herbert's home.
