Linville “Bud” Garner, 88, of Bennett, entered his Heavenly Home on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Charlie Addison Garner and Lydia Anne Ritter Garner.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Joyce-Brady Chapel. The graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Acorn Ridge Baptist Church with Dr. John Williamson presiding. In the event of inclement weather, the service will be moved to the sanctuary.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Delores Lambert Garner; step-sons, Gary, Jerry, Terry and David Kidd; sisters, Era Shields, Lois Kidd, Willa Brooks and Nora Cox; brothers, Colon, Roland, Ed and Carl Garner.
He is survived by his step-daughters, Sharon Hill (Tony), of Robbins and Karen Watson (Benny), of Bear Creek; step-son, Tommy Kidd, of Bennett and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bud was a brick mason by trade and he loved farming and having a big garden. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle in his younger years. Bud loved his family and his church family. He was a member of the Bennett High School Class of 1955.
The family would like to thank FirstHealth Hospice nurses and caregivers for their love for him and his grandson, Larry Saunders and wife, Michaela for taking care of him the last five years.
