Linzy Lee Cheffen was born on August 30, 1959, in Kansas City, MO to Eula Jean Cheffen and James Simpson. He departed this life peacefully, Friday, February 27, 2026, at Saint Luke’s Hospice House. He was preceded in death by his parents (Eula Sheley and James Simpson), maternal grandparents (John & Lizzy Cheffen), paternal grandparents, and several uncles, aunts, nephew & cousins.

Linzy joined the US Army at the age of 18 and served Our country from 1977-1982. When he got out of the military, he worked various jobs, mainly in the food and healthcare industries. He was very passionate about his work in healthcare. One thing about it, Linzy Lee always kept a job to support himself.

Linzy accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He joined Macedonia Baptist Church in 2013 and was regularly going to church, until his health started to fail him. He loved to dress to impress. He enjoyed listening to old school music, dancing, and being around his, family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memories: one son, Lindsey Wallace of Kansas City, MO, one daughter, Tihesha Wallace of Houston, TX, brother, James Cheffen of Kansas City, MO, five sisters, Diane (Victor) Thomas, Roxanne Bly, Arshell Boykin, Terri (Anthony) Morehead of Kansas City, MO & Patricia Jack of Cedar Hill, TX. sister from father’s side, Teena Nimrod of Kansas City, MO, best friend, Robert (Bobby) Turner, Jr., four grandchildren, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
