Lionel V. Carrizales Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and veteran, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, surrounded by family. He was born on May 10, 1959, in Pearsall, Texas, where he spent his formative years.
Lionel proudly served his country for 16 years in the United States Marines, reflecting his deep commitment to service and duty. His military background instilled in him values of courage, integrity, and dedication that he carried throughout his life.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Susana Carrizales, and his cherished children: Sergio Olivas (Jazmine), Kathy Carrizales, and Lionel Carrizales Jr. Lionel's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Jazlynn and Sergio II, who brought him great joy and pride.
Lionel is also remembered by his loving sisters, Alvesa Ruel and Gloria Rodriguez, who share beautiful memories of their time together.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Raul Carrizales Sr. and Catalina Vinton Carrizales, and his siblings: Rolando Carrizales, Roberto Carrizales, Raul Carrizales Jr., and Lucinda Robinson, all of whom will hold a special place in his heart forever.
A funeral service to honor Lionel’s life will be held on October 15, 2025, at Templo El Olivar in Pearsall, Texas, beginning at 10:15 AM. Gravesite service will follow at the VFW Cemetery with Marines Funeral Honors. Those who knew Lionel will find comfort in remembering his warm spirit and the love he shared with family and friends throughout his life.
