Lisa Burchett Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jerry Spears Funeral Home - Columbus on Jun. 21, 2025.
Lisa Ann Burchett, age 58, passed away Thursday June 19th, 2025 at 11:25am at the OSU James Cancer Institute which is also the wedding anniversary of her and her late husband John Burchett (2018). This was their 32nd wedding anniversary and Lisa was welcomed into Heaven by the love of her life waiting to reunite and dance with her again to their wedding song, Unchained Melody. Employed with Columbus City Schools with 30 years of service, she was known as "The Queen of the Kitchen" and she was adored by her coworkers, students, and staff at Marion Franklin High School. She was also the head of the cleaning crew at Jerry Spears funeral home for the past 15 years. Lisa loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, who were her world. In her spare time, you might find her at the Quick Hit casino machines at The Scioto Downs Casino. Lisa loved old country music, going out to eat, traveling to the mountains and ocean, watching Ohio State football, and feeding people with her homemade meals cooked with love. She was very witty with the best sense of humor and would do anything for anyone as long as it was after her nap. She was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. To know Lisa was to love her and she brightened so many people's lives with her love and light. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her and her love was unwavering, unconditional, and everlasting. Lisa was preceded in death by husband, John Burchett (2018), mother Martha Conkey, and sister Teresa Goode. Survived by daughters Alesha (David Shephard) Rose, Sara Burchett, Jessica Giddens, and Joselin Powell. Grandchildren Jasper Burchett (Mamaw's boy), Jayonna Collins, Breonna Hoffman, Noah Giddens, Ellieonna Hoffman, Lexi and Rayla Giddens, sisters Debbie (Jimmy) Hogue, and Chrystal (Danny) Morgan. The world lost an angel walking on earth but gained an angel now flying high in Heaven. Her beloved soul is finally at rest with the love of her life. Friends may call at Jerry Spears Funeral Home 2693 W. Broad St. Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm where service will be held Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 11 am.
