David Edward Burchett, 62

David was born on December 28, 1962 in Louisville, KY. He passed away on December 15, 2025 after a long courageous battle with cancer.

David grew up in Eastwood, Ky and graduated from Eastern High School.

David was preceded in death by his parents Henry Edward & Betty Jo Burchett. His stepson, Matthew Brian Lindsey and brother in law Gilbert Bobby Lindsey.

David is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Sally Fay Burchett. His son, Brian Edward Burchett, his sister Vicky Cischke (Dwight), his nephew Adam Cischke, his sisters in law, Jan, Tammy, Donna, granddaughter Jamie Lindsey along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

David lived a full and meaningful life, grounded in faith, hard work, and deep appreciation for the people and places that shaped him. A devoted Christian, David was grateful for his mountain roots and the Christian upbringing that guided his values and remained a steady foundation throughout his life.

He was known for his smile that could light up a room and his beautiful blue eyes that reflected kindness, warmth, and genuine joy. David had a natural way of connecting with others and, as a result was blessed with numerous friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

As a teenager David could be found at Skate World in J’town and became an avid speed skater. He competed in numerous competitions in Louisville and in Florida.

David was a licensed electrician and one of his greatest accomplishments was starting his own electrical company, a testament to his dedication, skill, and strong work ethic. He took pride in his work and the independence he built through perseverance and integrity.

Music was another passion in David’s life. He played guitar and shared his beautiful voice in a band for over 20 years and found joy in sharing music with others, creating lasting memories and friendships along the way.

Paintsville, in Eastern Kentucky held a special place in David’s heart. He remained deeply grateful for his mountain heritage, carrying the spirit, and strength of his roots wherever life took him.

David’s life was a blessing to family, friends, and all who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of faith, love, and light will continue to live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at 2:00pm at Maple Grove Baptist Church, 5911 E. Manslick Rd. A., Louisville, KY 40219. Reception to follow
