Lisa Kay Burnette, 57, of Blairsville, GA, passed away on February 23, 2025. She was born on March 25, 1967, in Hiawassee, GA, to the late Russell and Sherry Burnette.
Known for her friendly demeanor, Lisa always greeted those around her with a cheerful "hey," inviting a sense of camaraderie that brightened even the cloudiest of days. Her generous spirit reached out to many in need.
Above all, Lisa's deep Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life. It sustained her through challenges and guided her in her daily interactions. She cherished sharing her faith with her children, often reading bible stories of faith, imbuing their lives with lessons of love and hope. This dedication to nurturing both their hearts and souls is a testament to the extraordinary mother she was.
Lisa took immense pride in her daughters and grandchildren, who were the joy and delight of her life. Each moment spent with them was filled with her unconditional love and boundless care, creating memories that will forever resonate in their hearts. Her family was not just an aspect of her life; they were her greatest accomplishment, a reflection of her nurturing spirit.
She is survived by her significant other John Mark Payne; children Misty (Trannis) Colwell, Brandy Snow, Ashley (Chris) Anderson; siblings Sonya Burnette, Christy (Tracy) Dockery, Scott Plott, and Chad (Judy) Plott; grandchildren Brayden Snow, Kaylyn Thompson, Nolan Thompson, Bobby Thompson III, Elizabeth Thompson, Isabell Wilkey, Wyatt McRae, Elijah Snow, Brooklyn Johnson, Jayden Crawford, and Fenyx Anderson.
She is preceded in death by her parents Russell and Sherry Burnette; sister Mia Annette Plott, and aunt Tamma Lee Hope.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 3:00 pm, at Cochran|McDaniel Funeral Home of Blairsville with Dr. Tom Jordan officiating.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 1:00-3:00 pm, at Cochran|McDaniel Funeral Home of Blairsville.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers Brayden Snow, Bobby Thompson III, Chris Anderson, Trannis Colwell, Dillon Weaver, and John Wesley Payne. John Mark Payne will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Interment will follow at Owltown Church of God Cemetery.
As we remember Lisa, we celebrate her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith. She touched so many lives, leaving an indelible mark that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
