Lisa Anne Bonfiglio Burns 12/26/1957 - 10/28/2025

Lisa grew up in St. Louis, Missouri with her parents Georgia and Gerald Bonfiglio, and two sisters. She was a graduate from Melville High School in St. Louis County and attended Community College before meeting her life partner and husband, Steven Burns. In their 45 years together, they shared an interesting and meaningful life filled with exploration and travel, a long-distance move to Hawaii where they lived and created their off-grid sustainable homestead over the last 37 years, and their focus on enjoying life, treating others with kindness, and enjoying being in nature together.

While they had no children, she is survived by her husband Steven Burns, her stepmom Sandy Bonfiglio, two sisters - Judith "Pua" Nickles and Jeri-Lynn England, 3 nephews - Jasper Nickles, William James England III, and Jesse Rains, as well as her sister-in-law Gail Downs and her niece Courtney Downs and nephew, Chandler Downs.

Lisa had an innocent sensitive childlike soul who always had a smile to share with everyone she met and never held a grievance towards anyone. She was a fun-loving free spirit who was loved by everyone she encountered. She always kept her strong faith in a higher power and was a life-long Christian. Having suffered many health challenges over the last 23 years by surviving stage 4 cancer, her strong faith, caring innocence, and positivity always shined through without complaints or affecting her ability to express her love of life and others. Her resilience and determination to survive in the face of all her health difficulties was remarkable to witness and serves as an example to us all for how to always love and appreciate life. She cared deeply for animals and was a vegetarian from a young age. Lisa was also a passionate artist, gardener, and musician who loved music, had a love for painting and playing her flute and saxophone. She also loved to scuba dive, snorkel, and was a high platform diver in high school. She was deeply loved and will be missed every day by all her relations and friends left behind. We know that her strong spirit will undoubtedly be available from the other side to always lend a hand.
