Lisa Ann Compston, age 60, of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma passed away at home on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Lisa was born on September 24, 1965, in Tarrant, Texas to Jamie and Gloria (Howard) Livingston. She grew up in South Coffeyville where she attended local schools, graduating from Lenapah High School.
On February 28, 1986, she married the love of her life and best friend, Joe D. Compston, in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in South Coffeyville where they raised their three children, Joe Don II, Quinton Jacob Tyler and Ashley Ann.
Lisa was a vibrant soul who embraced life with passion and enthusiasm. As an avid shopper, she had an eye for beauty and detail, which extended to her love for music and the joy she found in attending concerts. She learned to love OU Football and enjoyed playing cards and traveling. Her skill in keeping cattle records was unparalleled, a testament to her meticulous nature and dedication. At the heart of it all, Lisa's adoration for her family and friends was her driving force, her laughter the soundtrack to many cherished memories.
Known for her generous spirit, Lisa dedicated a significant part of her life to serving her community. She held multiple positions as a school board member, an experience that was greatly rewarding to her. As a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, her faith was a beacon that guided her through life's journey. Over the years, Lisa's career spanned a variety of roles, from working at the Village Van Guard Newspaper, Gibsons, Aardvark Video, and Emersons, to being a youth attendant at Longfellow Elementary School, a caretaker, and a secretary for Karen Weimer Tax Consultant. In every role, Lisa exuded warmth, professionalism, and commitment, leaving an indelible mark on those she worked with.
Surviving to cherish her memory is her husband, Joe Compston; children, Joe Compston II and wife, Casey, Jake Compston and wife, Melissa, Ashley Compston; grandchildren, Clayton, Nolan and Ian; sister, Laura Cox and husband, Greg along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends. Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Jamie and Gloria Livingston and a grandchild, Sadie Elizabeth Compston.
Following Lisa's wishes, cremation will take place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in
Coffeyville, Kansas.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma. Pastor Dave Compston will officiate. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville.
The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the
American Lung Association; these may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N. Cline Rd.
