Lisa L. Downard

Lisa L. Downard age 60, of Elmore, OH passed away at home on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 with her husband and family near her side. She was born on September 20, 1965 in Toledo, OH to Francisco C. and Manuela (Rodriguez) Vargas. Lisa would later become a member of the Class of 1984 at Springfield High School in Holland, OH. She was blessed with children from a previous marriage, and was able to find love again. On August 27, 2004 she married David L. Downard in Toledo, OH. Lisa and Dave celebrated over 21 years of marriage together.

Lisa worked as a drywall plasterer for the Local #886 in Toledo for 20 plus years. She enjoyed the outdoors going camping, and getting the family together for cookouts. Lisa was a sports fan particularly of the Ohio State Buckeyes, and all things Cleveland, including the Browns and Guardians. However, Lisa's favorite joy was spending time with her family, especially her husband Dave and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Dave, Lisa is survived by her children: Paul (Michael) Jolley of Toledo, Terry (Amy) Jeffries of KS, Devon (Shannon) Downard of Curtice, and Mia Vargas of Elmore. Grandchildren: Sophia, Oliviah, Jovee, and Kailyn. Sisters: Esther Vargas, Gloria (Alex) Martinez, Martha Gonzales, and Amy (Nicholas) O'Neal. Brothers: Manuel Vargas, Andy (Laura) Vargas, and Greg (Claudia) Vargas. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Frank Vargas Jr., and sister, Patsy Bastien.
