PERRYSBURG -- Thomas E. Sevits of Perrysburg, OH passed away on January 28, 2026 after some years of health issues. He was born January 20, 1938 in Fremont, OH to Florence and Clyde (Schumaker) Sevits.
He attended Solomon Lutheran School in Woodville, OH and graduated from Woodville High School. He proudly served his country as a member of the Army Security Agency at Torii Station in Okinawa. In 1963 he married the love of his life Judith Ann Eckermann and had two sons, Scott and Steve. His family grew to include two daughter in-laws, 5 granddaughters, and one grandson and granddaughter in-law.
Tom worked 30+ years in IT at Owens Community College. Tom loved sports and was a fan of the Detroit Tigers and loved games live as well as on TV. He fondly remembered their travels to some 20 ASA Okinawa reunions all over the country as well as travels to the Southwest.
Tom was a quiet man but as he approached his time with his Lord, he shared such joy and love of his family. He was very proud of the life he built with Judy and the family they raised together. "We did good."
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, and survived by his wife Judy, sons Scott (Jo), Steve (Emily) and grandkids Olivia (Dyllan), Scarlet, Carson (Brandianne), Lindley, Sadie and Abbey Lane.
Friends and family will be received 10-11 a.m., with a funeral service at 11 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church, 5520 Fremont Pike, Stony Ridge, OH. Interment will be at Ft. Meigs Cemetery Perrysburg, OH. Officiating will be, Pr. Cindy Ritter.

Tom and I first met in 1957 at Ft. Devens, Mass. Later that year we both found ourselves on Okinawa at Sobe Camp. We played baseball together in 1958 and flag football the following year. We kept in touch until his passing. The picture which was accidently sent without this message was in 1957 and then updated at an ASA reunion in Baltimore in 2002. Tom was one of the nicest guys that I ever was aquainted with and will surely miss our talks, the last one being a week before he left us. My prayers to Judy and their family.
