LISA SCHWARTZ FLAHERTY

Survived by her devoted husband Mark David Flaherty of Metuchen, NJ, her parents Joanne and Milan Schwartz of Ocean, NJ, and her brother Adam David Schwartz of Hoboken, NJ. Lisa's father Milan was a toddler survivor of the Holocaust at the Bergen Belsen Concentration camp. Lisa and Adam are second generation survivors.

Lisa died suddenly on March 21st, 2026 at JFK University Medical Center, Edison, NJ with her husband Mark and her mother Joanne kneeling by her side.

Early in Lisa's career, she lived and worked in New York City. She was a professional aesthetician focusing on specific skin types and care. One of her lifelong hobbies was philately. She picked up the passion for stamp collecting from her father who introduced her to it as a child. Lisa and her mother went to the post office regularly for new stamp issues.

Some of her other joys as a young girl were fishing with her father and loving to be photographed by him. Living in Greenwich Village after getting her Associates Degree, she took full advantage of all the city had to offer. Moving back to New Jersey she got to go to the beach more often, another of her favorite things.

She always enjoyed listening to music and having in depth discussions of upcoming trends in beauty and fashion. She remained young at heart her whole life.

She held her family very close, and her top desire was to have them visit or vice versa.
