Mildred Pauline Prendergast

Of Eaton Rapids, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, at the age of 92.

Millie was born on September 27, 1933, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, the daughter of John and Catherine Colletto. She was raised in Edison, New Jersey, where she graduated with the Class of 1951.

Millie devoted her professional life to caring for others. Following graduation, she earned a Nursing degree and proudly served her country in the United States Air Force. Later she accepted a position caring for troubled children and teens at a county residential treatment center near her home in New Jersey. She then moved to work in hospitals, rising to supervise JFK Hospital's operating rooms and Roosevelt Hospital's central supply.

She was an active part of St. Francis Catholic Church (later Cathedral) in Metuchen, NJ, having taught CCD and been a member of the Altar Rosary Society.

In 2011, she moved to Eaton Rapids to be closer to her immediate family. Millie became a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. She cherished time spent with her son and grandchildren and found great joy in cooking and caring for her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, William Prendergast PhD; her siblings, Calajero, Domonic, Francis, Leonard, and James Colletto; and her sister, Eleanor Barger.

Millie is survived by her son, Shawn Prendergast; her grandchildren, Colin and Abigail Prendergast; her brother, William (Karen) Colletto; and several nieces and nephews.
