Lisa Marie Hall, 59, of Painted Post, NY, passed away unexpectedly on September 23, 2025.
Lisa was born in Ithaca, NY, and worked for Tompkins County for over 30 years. She later founded a business with her life partner, Steven Velez, dedicated to helping families navigate the difficult process of managing a loved one’s estate after their passing, always with compassion and care.
Her father nicknamed her “Sunshine” because she had a way of brightening everyone’s life. Lisa was a woman of deep faith, known for her generosity, warmth, and her devotion to her family. She loved her two children dearly and often called them her reason for living — but nothing brought her greater joy than her grandson, Charlie, whom she adored. Lisa’s love extended to all animals, and throughout her life she adopted many cats, dogs, and even woodland creatures that brought her endless joy.
She is survived by her life partner, Steven Velez; daughter, Jennifer Fenner; son, Lucas Eaton; beloved grandson, Charles Fenner; mother, Janice Hamilton; stepmother, Jean Hall; brothers, Anthony Temple, Ted Hall and George Merenok; and sisters, Barbara Reed and Krista Perkins. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, William Hall.
A celebration of Lisa’s life will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the large pavilion at Stewart Park in Ithaca, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to assist the family with expenses through the GoFundMe page at gofund.me/f1e155f5f.
