Lisa E. Hummel, 71, of Hydetown, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, following an extended illness.
She was born on July 7, 1954, in Toms River, New Jersey, to the late Anthony Cosmo Pisano and Mary Lou Hulsart Pisano. Lisa married Robert E. Hummel on July 11, 1981, and the two reaffirmed their commitment to each other with a second marriage on December 30, 2007.
A graduate of Howell High School, Class of 1972, in Farmingdale, New Jersey, Lisa later drove a school bus for the Titusville School District for many years. She eventually pursued her passion for cooking and earned a degree in Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management from the Scottsdale Culinary Institute.
Lisa was a lifelong collector with a special fondness for cookbooks, kitchen gadgets, and anything culinary-related. She loved sewing, scrapbooking, making lists (and rewriting them), spontaneous road trips-whether planned or not-and hosting gatherings for family and friends. She cherished decorating for every occasion and enjoying the occasional adult beverage. Though distance sometimes kept them apart, Lisa adored her grandchildren, as well as many children she treated like her own, regardless of blood relation.
Lisa was preceded in death by her daughter Krystyn, as well as her parents, Anthony and Mary Lou Pisano.
She is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob/Bobby) Hummel of Hydetown; her children: Taryn Dinsmore and husband Kurt of Severna Park, Maryland; Tina Schooley of Chandler, Arizona; Kirsty Sligar and husband Kristoffer of Sutton, West Virginia; and Jaymie Hummel and fiancé Robert Frank of Titusville, Pennsylvania.
She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Arlayna Schooley, Kaidyn Lutostanski, Paityn Lutostanski, and Coltyn Lutostanski, all of Chandler, Arizona; Kamdyn and Owen Dinsmore of Severna Park, Maryland; and Taylor, James, and Rebecca Sligar of Sutton, West Virginia.
Lisa leaves behind her eldest brother Edward (Butch) Pisano and his wife Squirrel Pisano, along with Kelly Rae, Karyn, and Jimmy Pisano; her younger brothers, Glen and Collin Pisano and their families; her stepmother, Karen Pisano of Hydetown; her sister Kelly Pronti and husband Danny of Carlstadt, New Jersey; and her brother Anthony Wallace Pisano of New Jersey.
She is also survived by her sisters-in-law: Joella (Sue) Hummel of Hydetown, Carol Morgan of Hydetown, and Cheryl Hummel and her fiancé Jim McCurdy.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
