Lisa McGinnis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home & Crematory Services, Pittsfield on Nov. 4, 2025.
HARTLAND-On the morning of November 3, 2025, after giving the doctors a good run for their money, Lisa McGinnis (Withee), born September 9, 1963, was laid to rest. She passed peacefully at Eastern Maine Medical Center. She headed off to reunite with her parents, Glenn and Joyce Withee, and her beloved son, Steven Weeman, who we know gave her one of his great big teddy bear hugs.
Lisa spent a devoted stretch of her life at SAS and New Balance, where she showed up, worked hard, and made life long friendships. When at home, she poured her heart into her children and grandchildren. She had a love for knitting, sewing and baking. In recent years, she grew to love diamond art painting and putting puzzles together.
She leaves behind her two daughters: Tara Weeman and companion Derrick Small of Palmyra and Amber McGinnis and companion Ben Hebert of Pittsfield, who will continue to carry forward her strength, humor, hardworking attitude, and kindness. She also leaves behind her grandchildren who we all know were the center of her universe: Logan, Sara, Allie, Cullen, Kelsea, Dustin, Derrick, and Adalynn, each one a reminder of her pride, patience, and warm steady love. She also leaves a circle of sisters who walked beside her through every season; celebrating joys, laughing, and holding each other through every storm that hit: Deborah, Glenda, Cindy, Teresa, and Wendy.
A time of visiting will be held from 12-2 p.m., with a time of sharing at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, November 9, 2025, at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield. A gathering will be held following the service at a place to be determined. A committal will take place in the spring of 2026 at the Village Cemetery in Detroit.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to remember Lisa in ways she use to live: bake something sweet, crochet a set of mittens, put together a puzzle, make a diamond art picture, or just do something for someone that needs it. And if you add just a little stubbornness and humor while you do it, she would be proud of that too.
Fly high Momma Bear until we meet again.
