Abingdon, VA – Lisa Marie Jones Statzer, age 63, passed on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at her home. Lisa was born October 29, 1961, in Greeneville, TN to the late Samuel Jones and Orva Honeycutt. She was a graduate of West Greene High School and attended Walter State Community College and East Tennessee State University.
Lisa was an RN and employed with Ballad Health for 27 years. She and her husband Rick enjoyed traveling, cruises, taking pictures on Sunday afternoon drives, and spending time with family and friends.
Lisa is survived by her husband of 29 years, Rick Statzer; her brother, Richard Jones and wife Sandra; nephew, Brian Jones; niece, Rebecca Coyle and husband Bill; cousin, Susan Hartman; fur baby, Chester; and several other cousins.
Visitation with the family will be held 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Highlands Fellowship Church, 22417 Watauga Road, Abingdon, VA. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Allen Jessee and Pastor Shawn Dupuie officiating.
Committal services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday in Knollkreg Memorial Park with Bob Dorton, Seth Dorton, Robbie Hicks, Kevin Hicks, Jimmy Carr, and Levi Hicks serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Shortt, David Jones, and Jody Cheek.
