Lisa Catterton Stryker

Lisa Catterton Stryker (70) passed away on November 29, 2025 from complications resulting from Huntington's Disease while in hospice care in McLean, VA. Lisa was born August 12, 1955 at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She was the fifth of six children of the late William H. Catterton, Jr. and Elizabeth B. Catterton. Lisa graduated with honors from Archbishop Keough High School where she competed in a number of varsity sports and later earned a bachelor's degree in special education from Slippery Rock State University and a Certificate in Accounting from University of Baltimore. In addition to her parents, Lisa was predeceased by her brother William H. (Ladd) Catterton and sister Candice A. Chappell.

Prior to becoming a full-time homemaker, Lisa taught special education in Somerset County, MD for a number of years and later worked in banking. She is survived by her three children, Daniel C. Stryker (Melissa), Lauren V. Stryker and Erica S. Dwyre (Gregory) all of Alexandria, VA and her grandchildren, Violet, Gloria, Faye and Finnley. She is also survived by her sisters, Celia Kurisch (Billy) of Ellicott City, MD and Amy Lear (Kevin) of Lancaster, PA and her brother Paul Catterton (Gerri) of Baldwin, MD. Her marriage of 28 years to Jeffrey L. Stryker ended in divorce.

Lisa was an avid gardener and a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and aunt. She enjoyed family time above all else and particularly cherished the summer and winter extended family vacations at Deep Creek Lake in Garrett County, MD.

A visitation will be held on December 21, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home at 1500 West Braddock Road, Alexandria, VA 22302.
