Lloyd Bolstridge Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home & Crematory Services, Pittsfield on Apr. 17, 2024.
CORINNA-Lloyd Alden Bolstridge Jr, 71, passed away on April 15, 2024, at his family farm in Corinna.
Alden was born on July 28, 1952, in Dexter, Maine, the son of the late Lloyd and Audrey Bolstridge Sr. He graduated from Nokomis High School in 1970 and worked for Eastland Woolen Mill from 1970 until they closed in 1996. He also was employed by the town of Corinna as an EMT I on the Corinna Ambulance and as a firefighter for Corinna Fire Department serving for 25 years in each department. He also served on the Newport Fire Department, Capital Ambulance, Dexter Ambulance, Hartland-St. Albans Ambulance, Newport Rescue, and the Sebasticook Valley Ambulance for a period of years.
In 1996, Alden was awarded the "EMS Field Professional Award" by the State of Maine for his dedication to Emergency Medical Service. He became an EMT in 1981 and served until 2009. He was the director of the Corinna Ambulance for 15 years.
Alden lived a life dedicated to service and loved his Corinna community. He was a selectman for numerous years, a director of the sewer district for 7 years, and served on the Planning Board, the cemetery committee, and the budget committee. He was also a member of the Kennebec EMS Testing Team.
He was also loyal and dedicated to his friends. Ready listen with a shoulder to lean on, advice, and a hug. Maybe bake a sweet treat; chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting a favorite. Brightening a day with a flower, smile, and those bright blue eyes. He always seemed to know what his friends needed from him, and he was always ready to give it.
He wants his family and friends to not dwell over his death, but to remember all the good times that were shared. He is at peace and loves you all very much.
He is survived by his daughter, Amy Chute and husband Ron; son, Kevin Bolstridge and companion Melissa; grandchildren: Venessa, Colby, Rachel and Andrew; siblings: David and wife Sandy, Jane and husband Robert, and Dennis and wife Sally; nieces: Jessica, Jaime, and Rebecca; nephews: Kyle and Brad; many cousins; his special friends: Julie and Paul Verville, Linda and Darryl Henderson, John Guay, Tim Underhill, Lisa LaGross, Laurine Farrar, Rick Turner, Dennis and the late Pat Woodard, Dawn and Jason Littlefield, Ellen Gaedtke, and many other dear friends far too numerous to list.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Sue Lynn; and his parents.
A celebration of his life will be held from 1-4 p.m., Sunday, May 19, 2024 at the Corinna American Legion Post #73, 47 Maple Street, Corinna. At Alden's request, this will be a casual come and go as you please affair.

My memories of Alden are very heartwarming! He was a friend to many; he always had a smile and sincere words, especially when people were having a difficult time! He spoiled us in the ER at SVH, with his delicious treats, especially the chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting! I had a chance to see him a couple of years ago after many years of not seeing him, and it it was so nice; we picked up right where we left off! He was such a kindhearted man! I will never forget him!
