Lloyd Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by James A. Dyal Funeral Home on Mar. 20, 2026.
Lloyd Armand Davis, Jr., 90, entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 28, 2026.

Born on December 5, 1935, in Andrews, he was the beloved son of the late Lloyd A. Davis and Sarah McLean Davis.

Lloyd was a man whose presence could light up any room. Outgoing, personable, and always ready with a warm greeting, he had a natural way of making everyone around him feel included.

A devoted husband to his beloved Shirley Davis, he loved nothing more than sharing life's adventures with her-especially those spent sailing, fishing, and simply being on the water. Together, they hosted dozens of unforgettable oyster roasts for family and friends at their cherished river house on Daniel Island, a place where laughter, stories, and the smell of salt air always seemed to linger.

Lloyd's zest for life carried onto the open road. He was an avid motorcyclist who raced in his younger years and later journeyed across America on multiple trips to Daytona and Sturgis.

Whether revving an engine, raising a glass, or stepping onto a dance floor, he was always the first one there and the last to leave.

He lived fully, joyfully, and unapologetically-and he taught the rest of the Davis clan to do the same.

He proudly served his country with a brief enlistment in the United States Air Force and built a career managing restaurants throughout the Lowcountry, known for his strong work ethic and natural leadership.

Lloyd is survived by his loving children: Carmen Bryant (Reggie), Cliff Davis (Christine), Chet Davis (Donna), and Fay Davis; as well as five beloved grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Cody Davis.

He was the best of all the Davis clan-larger than life, deeply loved, and impossible to forget. Lloyd will be celebrated, remembered, and dearly missed.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 2 p.m. at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, 303 S. Main Street, Summerville, SC 29483.
