Lloyd Dillon Obituary

Obituary of Lloyd Elgan Dillon
Our best friend, husband, dad, and papa passed away on March 6, 2024, just as he lived – surrounded by his loving family. Lloyd Elgan Dillon was the epitome of all the best qualities in life, a sentiment universally acknowledged by anyone lucky enough to get to know him.
Lloyd was known for always putting everyone else's needs before his own and would do anything and everything he could in his power to help when needed. Whether you needed a tool from his garage, a ride to the airport, the brakes on your car replaced (thanks, dad!), or some shared wisdom he was always ready and able.
After retiring from state service, of which he devoted 35+ years, he focused his life on making memories with his family. Lloyd and his wife, JoAnn, found joy in spontaneous day trips, discovering hidden breakfast gems, and cruising the California countryside on his Harley Davidson.
A man of family, his heart brimmed with love for his four granddaughters, Sophia (15), Riley (14), Ella (11), and Brady (8), attending every event that marked their journey, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.
The Dillon family, built on strength, loyalty, resilience, generosity, and a well-timed joke, reflects Lloyd's enduring legacy. With a 55-year marriage to JoAnn as a testament to his devotion, Lloyd leaves behind a family who will carry his values forward with pride. Survived by his loving wife, children Renae and Daniel, son-in-law Michael, daughter-in-law Sarah, and his cherished granddaughters, Lloyd's spirit will forever linger in the hearts of those he touched.
A Celebration of Life is being scheduled and details will be posted when planned. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Nevada County Toy Run, Toys for Tots, or The Prostate Cancer Foundation.

Lloyd was an integral member of our golf club. Serving as an officer and instrumental in keeping the club going. He was a joy to play with.

My condolences go out to his entire family. I´ll never forget that after I bought their Chevy Malibu (that I absolutely loved) the transmission went out. He came and personally made it right by taking car of the car I had just bought. That´s an honorable person. Lloyd R.I.P. your family will miss you immensely.

I miss you already Dad :(
I find comfort in knowing that the morals and ethics that you taught me will guide me forever. You are a true mentor and I have always known how lucky I am to have you as my father. Thank you for ALWAYS being there for me and the family. I hope to be half the man, spouse, father, son, papa (someday) and friend that you are, and I will continue to do my best for you. I have learned so much from you and I will continue to carry those traits with me. I miss you dearly Dad. I know you will still be there when I speak to you in my prayers.

Please look over us all and throw down a "Smile Ball" when you see that we are in need.
XOXOXOXOXO

Dear JoAnn,

Lloyd was my supervisor at the Integrated Waste Management Board for approximately seven years. His presents as work created an atmosphere unlike any I was exposed during my career. He was dedicated, worked hard, and loyal. Most of all, he was fun to be around and made the mundane more than tolerable. I will always look back with fond memories of Lloyd.

My deepest condolences,
Chris Deidrick
