Lloyd Merlin Feakes passed away at his home on July 13, 2025. Lloyd has been a resident of Bellville since May 1999, having moved from the big city of Houston to Bellville for its golf course, hospital and small-town environment. Lloyd and his wife Pat were members of the Winnebago Bluebonnet Travelers, Slow Poke Sams RV Group, and the Bellville United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Lions Club and delivered meals for HOA Meals on Wheels, where he served on the board since 2012. Lloyd was born June 24, 1936 in Mt. Hope, Wisconsin, population 205. When he was 8 years old, his family, tired of big city living, moved to Patch Grove, Wisconsin, population 195. Just before Lloyd's senior year in high school his family moved to Mt Ida, Wisconsin. He transferred from a senior class size of 8 to Fennimore High School, with a class size of 62. He attended Lacrosse State to study physical education. He was a fully trained service technician for the radar-controlled M-75 anti-aircraft gun. He was assigned to the 169th Ordinance Detachment in Kaiserslautern, Germany. The Army decided, after three months, that he was more of an asset on the basketball and baseball Battalion teams. Before he deployed to Germany, Lloyd became engaged to his hometown sweetheart Patricia Ann Becker. They were married on November 8, 1958. Lloyd studied electrical engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He went on to work at Honeywell Aerospace Division in Minneapolis. He worked on a number of government projects, including Apollo and the SR-71 Spy Plane. His time at Honeywell took him to Philadelphia, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa. He and his wife ran Mill Creek Resort on Table Rock Lake near Kimberling City, Missouri, from 1975 to 1977. Eventually Lloyd went back to work with Honeywell Engineering and Construction Group in Houston, Texas, until he retired in 1997. Lloyd's wife Pat, lost her battle with cancer in July 1989. Lloyd leaves behind a loving family of four children, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lloyd married Carolyn Skinner in 1993. The marriage lasted until 2004. In 2005, Lloyd married a fellow Honeywell employee, Patricia Ann Scruggs. Pat died of Alzheimer's in January 2021. Lloyd is survived by his brother Darryl and his wife Rachael (Milwaukee, WI). Lloyd is preceded in death by both parents, William and Wilma Feakes (Fennimore, WI), his sister Nelda and her husband Don Ransom (Fennimore, WI) and his older brother Loren and his wife Shirley (Waupun, WI).
