Lloyd G. “Nub” Garner, 87, of Bogota, died Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Crestview Healthcare and Rehab in Brownsville.  Born June 27, 1936, he is the son of the late Emmett Grandville and Donnie Mae Conder Garner.  He was a member of Bogota Baptist Church.

 

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2024 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Carmon Dennison    with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery. 

 

The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

 

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremiah Jones, Jake Sluder, Tristan Jones, Kaylee Allen, Dusty Long, Butch Garner and Steve Hughes. 

 

He is survived by his daughter, Sheila Garner Nightwine (Terry) of Rossville; one sister, Martha Sue Crews of Dyersburg; two grandchildren, Trish Jones (Jeremiah) of Atoka, Heather Sluder (Jake) of Arlington; and five great-grandchildren, Kaylee Allen, Tristan Jones, Tyler Jones, Jordan Sluder and Tanner Jones.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Janice M. Boswell Garner; two sisters, Margie Bryant, Alma Thurmond; and five brothers, Harold Garner, Donald Garner, Floyd Garner, Hershel Garner and Lawrence Garner.

 

The family requests memorials be directed to Bogota Baptist Church.
