May 2, 1940 - March 28, 2026
Lloyd D. Heil, 85 of Loup City, Nebraska died Saturday, March 28, 2026 at CHI Health, Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska following complications from an ATV accident. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 3, 2026 at Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City with Dean Millsap officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City. A light lunch will follow the interment at the United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall in Loup City. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Higgins Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Loup City Fire Department or donor's choice. Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City is in charge of arrangements. Lloyd Dale Heil was born on May 2, 1940 to Lee and Ida (Larson) Heil in Sherman County. He graduated in 1958 from Loup City High School. He was in the Army from 1962-1964.
He married Judy Psota on January 23, 1971 in the Loup City Presbyterian Church. To this union three children were born, Wade, Audrey, and Jared.
Lloyd worked at the turkey plant in Gibbon. He farmed and raised cattle in the Loup City area for over 70 years. He enjoyed raising and sharing sweetcorn. He loved playing pool and snooker which earned him the lifelong nickname of "Snooks". He was proud of the accomplishments and work ethic of his grandchildren.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Judy (Psota) Heil; his three children; Wade (Tami) Heil, Audrey Heil and Jared Heil (Marcia Bartels); four grandchildren, Delanie, Danica, Dillon, and Jenna Heil; a brother, Marvin Heil, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Maxine Dick, John Heil Sr. and Wilbur Heil; granddaughter, Dorothea Heil and nieces, Loraine Panowicz and Jeri Lyn Heil.
