Lloyd Irwin Johnson Sr. passed away Friday October 4th at the Woodlands in Albert Lea surrounded by his loved ones; he was 89 years of age.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, October 11, 2024, at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea, with a visitation beginning at 10:00AM. Burial will be in St. Theodore Catholic Church Cemetery. 

Lloyd was born on November 15, 1934 in Kenneth, Minnesota, the son of Ole and Oline Johnson. He graduated from Luverne High School. On March 25 1977, he married the love of his life, Jeanne Johnson, at the First Lutheran Church.

Lloyd enlisted in the United States Navy in 1953 and was Honorably Discharged in 1961. He also served in the Minnesota Army National Guard and was Honorably discharged in 1978. He was employed by Northwestern Bell before retiring after 38 years 7 months. He belonged to the VFW, American Legion, and Knights of Columbus. A man of deep faith, and a person of prayer, he was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church for many years where he served as an usher.

Known for his kindness, gentleness, and generosity, he was beloved in every community he found himself in.

Lloyd is survived by his children Lloyd Jr., Mary Ann, Lorraine (John), Jeannine, Paul (Leslie), Susan (Laine), and Daniel (Shannon); his grandchildren Christina, Katherine, David, Jennifer, Timothy, Brandi, Holly, Joy, Ryan, Monica, Emily, Garret, Bryanna, Claire, Carley, Logan, Aubry, Rhys; and many great grandchildren, great grandchild. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Paul. He was proceeded in death by his wife, parents, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, and grandchildren Joe and Preston.

The family would like to give special thanks to Angie and the staff at Knutson Place, the nurses at the Woodlands, and Mayo hospice nurses for their kind and devoted care.
