Lloyd "Tuggy" Lyew

Lloyd " Tuggy" Lyew passed away on February 9, 2022 at the age of 84 in Coral Springs, Florida. He was born to Edna & Daniel Lyew on September 17, 1937 and was the oldest of 9 children. Lloyd grew up in St. Catherine, Jamaica and spent most of his youth in Spanish Town, where his parents owned a grocery store & restaurant.
Lloyd met and fell in love with Lilla & the pair married in 1959; balancing life with six children, several retail stores, a gas station and a construction company, Lloyd was happiest while serving his community. In addition to serving at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church he was Distinguished President of Kiwanis Club West St. Andrew and later elevated to Lt. Governor of the EC & C District for Kiwanis Club.
"Tuggy" (a nickname inducted in childhood), was a kind and caring man, welcoming and jovial, he made everyone feel loved. Tuggy always said his greatest achievement was family, always making time to travel, explore and teach his kids & grandkids.
Tuggy is survived by his wife Lilla, his children and their families; Derrick, Debbie, Danielle, Dean Lyew & Dylan Lyew-Sibley; Donald, Janine, Dominique, Demetria & Deandra Lyew; Dave, Moya, Thandi & Tiana Lyew; Damian, Milesa, Rianne & Jonathan Lyew; Dennis & Ann Lyew; Lisa, Dave & Casey McPherson. Also survived by his brothers Victor, Peter & Mike Lyew, Hui & Gary Yu, sisters Elaine, Anne Marie and Annette.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 26 at Bell's Funeral Home in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. Service will be live streamed at 12:00 noon.
