Lloyd Passes Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bullis Mortuary on Jan. 3, 2026.
Lloyd Paul Passes, 43, of Garryowen, Montana, passed away to the other side of the camp on January 1, 2026. He was born on November 13, 1982, at Crow Indian Health Hospital to Marlon and Debbie Couture-Passes. Lloyd was a proud member of the Whistling Water Clan and a child of the Big Lodge Clan. His Indian name was "Outstanding Yellow Hammer."
Lloyd attended Pretty Eagle Catholic School from kindergarten through eighth grade. While at PECA, Lloyd was very active in sports and traveled to Chicago, Illinois, for the National Cross Country Meet and to Washington, D.C., for an Honor Roll trip, where he stayed with a host family and enjoyed sightseeing. He later moved to Flathead Country to live with his auntie mom, Susie, and attended Two Eagle River School in Pablo, Montana, where he earned his GED.
After moving to Pablo and later to Elmo, Montana, Lloyd met Alisha Thomas Adams, and from this union, they had a daughter, Kaylecia. They later separated. Lloyd then moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he met Jeanette Lee, and from this union, he had a son, LoMarleon.
Lloyd was loved by his family, brothers, sisters, and many friends he met along the way. He was always laughing, teasing, and enjoying time with others-whether hanging out or hunting. He had great respect for his sisters and brothers-in-law and loved teasing his sisters-in-law. Lloyd always welcomed and greeted people with a smile and a warm hello.
Growing up he looked up to his older brothers, Darius and Garrell, and was greatly impacted by their passing, Darius in 1999 and Garrell in January 2020, who was his sidekick in all his hunting adventures and travels to and from North Dakota.
Lloyd worked for oil companies in North Dakota starting in 2009 and was awarded many company jackets for his hard work and being a team player. He made many friends while working on the rigs. Although Lloyd recently took a break from the rigs he was planning to return this year.
In his spare time Lloyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, target shooting, barbecuing, swimming, and spending time with his brothers and family. He loved hanging out at camp during Crow Fair and taking random road trips-often surprising everyone when he posted his adventures on Facebook. Lloyd cherished time with his children and granddaughter, especially during visits to Flathead. His proudest moment as a father was watching his daughter graduate from high school, becoming a grandpa to his granddaughter Kayle'ana, and hunting with his son Lomarleon.
