Lloyd E. Rauch, 90, died on February 13, 2024, following a short illness.
He was born on June 1, 1933, in Blue Island, Illinois. The son of the late Edward and Ruth (Schwartz) Rauch, Lloyd graduated from Beecher High School, with the Class of 1951.
Following graduation, he married Marlene (Firnhaber) on February 13, 1955. Lloyd served in the Army from 1957 to 1961. He was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. He then served in the reserves for two years. He later worked for Pepsi for over 40 years and farmed part-time on his family farm. After he retired, Lloyd moved to Warner Robins, Georgia, where he became a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Rodger Rauch.
Surviving relatives are his former spouse, Marlene (Firnhaber) Rauch; four sons, Duane and his wife, Julee (Genovese), Scott and his wife, Tammy (Ivester), Michael and his wife, Julie (Marcotte), and Lyle and his wife, Danielle (Remich); five grandchildren, Joshua Rauch and his wife, Jennifer Lilly, Jeffrey Rauch, Jeremy Rauch and his wife, Mackenzie Rauch, Andrea Rauch and Jessica Rauch; three great grandchildren, Bradley Rauch, Maisyn Rauch and Ryler Rauch; as well as many nieces and nephews, and beloved friends, including his long-time friend, Barbara Locke.
Lloyd lived an active life. He enjoyed fishing, water-skiing, bowling, darts, boating, snowmobiling, golf, card games, and farming. Lloyd will be missed. After the celebration of his 90th birthday, he got the opportunity to go on an Honor Flight to Washington D.C., to see the War Memorials.
A service of remembrance will be held at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Warner Robins, GA, on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. There will also be a short viewing preceding the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Andersonville National Cemetery, at 2:00 p.m. on February 15, 2024.
