Mr. Lloyd Kenneth Willis, 89, of Ararat, VA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday night, January 14, 2026, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. Mr. Willis was born June 20, 1936, in Henry County, VA, the son of the late Charlie Monroe and Iris Olive Dawson Willis. A hardworking and dedicated man, Lloyd spent many years working as an automotive mechanic, a trade he took great pride in and one through which he helped countless friends, family members, and neighbors. Known for his strong work ethic, practical skills, and willingness to lend a helping hand, he was respected by all who knew him. Lloyd remained faithful to his Baptist upbringing and lived his life guided by quiet faith and a strong devotion to his family. He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara Gail and Darryl Thompson and Linda Darlene Drew, all of Rossville, GA; a stepdaughter, Phyllis Chappell of Rossville, GA; two grandchildren, Christopher Love and Nakia Townson, both of Rossville, GA; a great-grandchild, Tori Long; two great-great-grandchildren, Talon Long and Tatum Long; and two nephews, Kenny Willis and Jerry Willis, both of Portsmouth, VA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Willis was preceded in death by his loving wife, Winifred Lucille Snead Willis; two sisters, Loretta Marshall and Lucille Willis; and three brothers, Lowell Willis, Leonard Willis, and Wayne Willis. No formal visitation or funeral service will be held. Mr. Willis will be laid to rest beside his late wife in the Mount Bethel Moravian Church Graveyard. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
