Logan Michael Edwards

Logan Michael Edwards, 25, of Mills River, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville.
Born in Henderson County, he was the son of Michael and Kerrie (Gilliam) Edwards of Mills River, and the fiancée of Rixa Clark of Stoutsville, Ohio.
He spent most of his life in Asheville attending Asheville Christian Academy and later graduating from Asbury University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Communications with an emphasis on film production and a minor in theatre. He loved his job as a digital editor on the WORLD Watch team at WORLD News Group. Logan was full of life. He played baseball, soccer, basketball and archery. He raced BMX, but his main love was hockey which he played 10 years. He was a very talented musician. He could play the banjo, piano and drums. He served his church at Trinity of Fairview playing the drums for the youth group and several mission trips. He was also privileged to work as a datalogger at the Summer Olympics in Japan.
Logan was always working on a project. He loved to write, direct, act and produce movies. He would always find a part for everyone. He directed The Hobbit and was assistant director of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe at Asbury.
Most importantly he was thoughtful, kind and he loved the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: Jack Edwards, Uncle Danny Gilliam, maternal great grandparents: Glenn and Serepta Arrington (Granny), paternal great grandparents Clarence and Ocie Gilliam.
Logan was engaged to the love of his life, Rixa Clark. In addition to his parents and fiancée, those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Lindsey Nicole Edwards, maternal grandparents: Clyde and Gleanus Gilliam, Aunt Lesia Corn and her husband, Clay, paternal grandparents: Peggy and J.D. Whisnant, Aunt Vicki Hickcox and her husband, Jeff of Atlanta, GA, cousins Reese Corn, Brittany Knauf and her husband Steven of Norcross, GA, and Lauren Dobbs and Pete of Huntsville, AL and many extended greats and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, October 25, 2024 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Pastor Stacey Harris officiating. The service will be streamed lived starting at 2:50 PM by clicking on the link just below the obituary text. Friends will be received from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
