Logan Tanner Tompkins, 23, of Poulan, died Friday, August 29, 2025.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Bethel Baptist Church with Reverend Dudley Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Kimball Cemetery in Anderson City. Brandon Edwards, Hunter Burnett, Brady Cannady, Brayden Culpepper, John Cantrell, and Robert Gallagher will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Tommy Mercer.
The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service at Bethel Baptist Church.
Born on July 17, 2002, in Moultrie, he was the son of Daniel Tompkins and Fran Mathews Tompkins. Logan was known for his adventurous spirit and his love for the outdoors. Logan especially enjoyed hunting deer, spending countless hours in nature doing what he loved most.
He had a great passion for guns and was always eager to learn more about them. When he wasn’t outdoors, Logan could often be found playing video games, a pastime he truly enjoyed.
Logan worked as a welder and Fabrication Supervisor at Amadas Industries, where he was admired for his skill, leadership, and dedication. He took pride in his work and was respected by both his coworkers and friends for his strong work ethic and attention to detail. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Logan was preceded in death by his grandfather, Freddie Mathews.
He is survived by his parents, Daniel and Fran Tompkins of Carrabelle, FL; his brother, Ethan Mathew Tompkins of Cartersville, GA; grandparents, Shirley Dixon and husband Roger, and Ray and Donna Tompkins of Brunswick, GA; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
