It is with sadness we announce the passing of Lois "Jean" Beffa on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the age of 86 years old. Jean is survived by her son Mark (Jackie) Beffa and her daughter Lorrie Herman. A loving and caring Grandma to Kristine (Keith) Chastain and Alyssa (Marc) Cianciolo. A very proud Great-Grandma to Sean, Alex, Audrey, Carter, and Mackenzie Chastain and Owen, Elliot, and Noah Cianciolo. She had a special place for the dogs in her life, Rusty, Troubles, Libby, Abby, Sammy, Sofie, and Molly. Jean was preceded in death by her parents James and Louise Luepke, her brother Ron Luepke, and her son-in-law Steve Herman.
She loved going to the family's lake house in Mercer, WI to watch the kids play in the lake and water ski, to take a boat ride, and to sip an Old Fashioned or two. She also loved visiting Lorrie and her husband in California where Steve would push her along the ocean in a beach wheelchair at Crystal Cove State Park. She sang in the church choir for over 50 years and loved the many friends she made there. She spent the last years of her working life in the recreation department at a nursing home, where along with her co-workers, did activities and put on shows for the residents. She remained close friends with those co-workers and it was fun to hear them reminisce about the crazy things they did to entertain. And of course we cannot forget to mention her love of chocolate and mint chocolate chip ice cream!
A celebration of life service will be held by the family on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at 11:30am at Oak Creek Community United Methodist Church 8675 S 13th Street, Oak Creek, WI 53154 and streaming on their YouTube channel (find the link at OCCUMC.org).
