Lois Bradley Obituary
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 18th, 2025, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Dubuque Memorial Gardens.
Lois Ann was born on October 8th, 1933, in Preston, Iowa, the daughter of William and Viola Bormann. Lois Ann grew up with a deep appreciation for hard work and family values that shaped her life.
She married Cornelius "Jimmy" Bradley on April 29, 1951, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in LaMotte. Together, Jimmy and Lois Ann farmed and raised three children in the countryside of La Motte.
More than a wife, mother, and grandmother, she was the heart of the family. Lois Ann enjoyed caring for her family and friends. Lois Ann welcomed guests and neighbors with her warm smile and a pot of coffee. For 30+ years she worked side by side with her daughter Dixie, who owned the Circle C Saloon in La Motte, Iowa. She was best known for Mommy B's desserts (she had a love for baking!) Lois Ann was known for her quiet strength, her generosity, and her unwavering ability to find beauty in simple things.
Lois Ann cherished her family above all. She is survived by two children Dennis (Sharon) Bradley of La Motte and Douglas (Renee) Bradley of Bellevue; two grandchildren, Dallas (Ben) Urbain and Rebecca (Jake) Kilburg. Six great-grandchildren, Lily, Colten, Nathan, and Caden Urbain, Tatum and Josie Kilburg. Sisters Verla Beck and Donna (Eldon) Busch; sister-in- laws Norma Bormann, Wanda Bormann, and Norla Bormann; brother-in- law Richard Bradley; along with a special niece, Melissa Beck.
Lois Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cornelius "Jimmy" Bradley, her daughter Dixie Clasen, and son in- law Rick Clasen. Her siblings, Glen Bormann, Billy Bormann, and Vernon Bormann.
Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured and the countless lives she touched with her kindness. Lois Ann will be missed fiercely, but her legacy will live through the generations.
The family is deeply grateful to the staff at Finley Hospital ICU, The Views of Marion, and Suncrest Hospice for the loving care provided during Lois Ann's final days.
