Lois Coultas Obituary
Lois was born on August 26, 1934, to Ida and August Kettlehut and grew up in Baroda, MI. She married Jerry Patrick Coultas on August 14, 1955. They had two daughters, Deborah (Thomas) VerValin and Cynthia Lohry.
Together, they built and landscaped their home in Buchanan, while in their twenties. While Jerry progressed from working at the Buchanan Public System to becoming a Master Welder and Master Die Maker at the Buchanan Steel Factory, Lois used her talents to repair and restore antiques, especially wicker and caning. She also grew and harvested materials to create floral arrangements and bunches that were sold at local craft shows for several decades.
Lois used her spare time to pursue her artistic talents in painting miniatures, wire working, and jewelry making. Jerry designed and created projects using her skills woodworking and metal fabrication.
Jerry was born on January 31, 1936 to Mary and Hosea Coultas. He passed away in the night and was found dead on August 14, 2022.
