Lois Jean Decker

Lois Jean Decker, 86, of Lopatcong Township, Phillipsburg, NJ passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Abington Manor.

Lois was born in Phillipsburg, NJ on October 31, 1939 to the late Russell H. and Ruth Hartman Stewart.

Lois was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School and was a bus driver for Lopatcong Township School District and, most recently, Phillipsburg School District for over 40 years. She enjoyed raising and caring for her family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and friends ,who saw her as a second Mom. Lois was an excellent seamstress who enjoyed doing work for friends and family. She enjoyed collecting Fentonware Milk Glass, loved her pet rabbits and was an Elvis fan. Lois was an avid supporter of numerous charities for which she raised funds, was a member of the Lopatcong Township Emergency Squad Ladies Auxiliary and an active member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church of Phillipsburg, where she was on the Altar Guild, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School.

Lois is survived by Son, Eric A. (Jacqueline) Decker; Three Daughters, Cheryl (Gary) Karcher, Jill Decker, Linda (Kevin) Kirkendall; Sister, Sue (Joe) Jones; Grandchildren, Miranda, Scott, Annette, Kyle, Maggie, and Brandon; Great-grandchildren Emma, Adam, Lily, Liam, and Willy; many nieces and nephews. Lois was predeceased by her Husband of 56 years, William L Decker and Brother, Charles T. Stewart.

A Memorial Service for Lois will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at 11:00 am at St Luke's Episcopal Church; 500 Hillcrest Blvd; Phillipsburg, NJ 08865. Following the service, Lois' cremated remains will be placed in the altar of St. Paul's Chapel at St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
