Lois Grady Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Molloy Funeral Home - West Hartford on May 28, 2025.
Lois Stafford Grady passed peacefully into the hands of God on May 23rd surrounded by loved ones, shortly after celebrating her 90th birthday on May 4th. Throughout her life, faith, family, and friendship were Lois's greatest priorities.
Lois was born and raised in Hartford. She graduated from Mount Saint Joseph Academy and Bay Path College. Lois formed many lifelong friendships. She had a unique gift for connecting with people-always offering a warm smile and a listening ear. Many of her closest friendships, formed in childhood and early adulthood, remained vibrant and joyful well into her 90s.
Early trips to the Bushnell Theater sparked a lifelong love of music that brought joy and connection throughout her life. As a member of The Better Half Notes, an all-female a cappella group, she shared her love of music at senior centers and community events.
Lois and her husband, Paul, were active in the St. Thomas the Apostle community, where her spiritual life and friendships flourished. Over their 60 years together, they took joy in seeing their children build lives of their own, welcoming the spouses and growing families that followed. The arrival of grandchildren and great grandchildren brought added joy, deepening the love and meaning that surrounded her later years.
Lois had a special bond with her brother Joe and his wife Gail. Their steady care and companionship brought comfort and laughter, especially in her later years.
Professionally, Lois worked for many years as a Realtor alongside her brother at Stafford Associates. She was tireless in her dedication to clients and found great joy in helping others find their homes.
In recent years, Lois resided at Brookfield Chatfield where the care and kindness of the staff and community meant a great deal to her and her family. We are deeply grateful for their love and support.
Lois was predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul Grady; her parents, Joseph and Margaret Stafford; her infant sister, Paula Stafford; and her daughter, Sara Corcoran.
She is survived by her children: Paul and Betty Ann Grady, Meg and Tim McCrudden, Leo Corcoran, and Brendan and Peggy Grady; her grandchildren: Leo and Ali Corcoran, Maggie and Eric Seitz, Katherine Grady and Daniel Liebetreu, Will and Laina Grady, Clare and Connor Fitzgerald, Thomas Grady, Sara Grady, Paul McCrudden, and Brendan Grady; and her great-grandchildren: Declan, Callum, and Griffin Corcoran; Gavin and George Seitz. She is also survived by her dear cousin, Patty Casey.
A celebration of Lois's life will be held on Friday, May 30th at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. A reception will follow immediately in the parish hall. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Holy Family Passionist Retreat Center (holyfamilyretreat.org.)
