Lois Hepfinger Obituary

Hepfinger, Lois A. Gatesman
TROY - Lois Ann Hepfinger, 90, of Troy, N.Y., died Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at her residence after a long illness.
Born in Oil City, Pa., on January 21, 1935 to Clarence and Alice Gatesman.
Lois graduated from St. Joseph's High School in 1952. She attended St. Vincent Hospital Nursing Program in Erie, Pa. She was a wonderful nurse and had a notable career in nursing.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Dr. Norbert Francis Hepfinger; son, Norbert James Hepfinger; and siblings, James Gatesman and Marilyn Hopwood. Undoubtedly greeted with a full glass of Kendall Jackson chardonnay with three ice cubes.
She is survived by her three sons, Mark Joseph (Lisa) Hepfinger, Holliston, Mass., David Jerome (Kathy) Hepfinger, Bonita Springs, Fla.,, and Andrew John (Colleen) Hepfinger, Louisville, Ky.; a daughter, Theresa Ann (Mark) Lee, Wake Forrest, N.C.; her grandchildren, Matthew (Michelle) Hepfinger, Marc Hepfinger, Jackie (Dylan) Franc, Amanda Hepfinger, Kasie (Ross) Batty, Jacob (Emma) Hepfinger, and Alexandra Hepfinger and Austin and Marissa Lee; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was a selfless and unwavering force, known for her warm heart and welcoming spirit. For 44 years, she dedicated her life to nursing, caring for others with the same love she showed to her family and friends.
A devout Catholic, Lois lived her faith daily, finding strength and comfort in her beliefs. Her unwavering faith guided her actions and inspired those around her.
A natural entertainer, Lois loved to gather loved ones around the table, always setting it beautifully and effortlessly preparing delicious meals. She never knew a stranger, always making time for everyone she met, and her home was a haven of warmth and hospitality for all.
In her free time, Lois delighted in playing Bridge with her girlfriends, and spending summer days at Taconic Lake, sharing laughter and stories that created cherished memories. Her legacy of kindness and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Relatives and friends may call at Christ Sun of Justice Chapel and Cultural Center, 2125 Burdett Ave., Troy, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 10 to 11 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 a.m., with Rev. Edward Kacerguis, officiating.
