Lois Jean McGhee Petty, 77, of Crosby, Mississippi, passed away peacefully into the arms of her heavenly Father on July 23, 2024 at St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson, MS.

Lois was born February 2,1947 in Huxford, Alabama to Travis and Neva McGhee.

Lois was a loving wife for over fifty years to her husband Mickey before his death in 2016.

She was a homemaker, the Town Clerk of Crosby, MS, and worked as a clerk for Foreman’s Grocery.

She leaves behind one daughter Angela Petty Mize and Danny of Paducah, KY; one son Michael Leighton Petty, Jr. of Smithdale, MS; four grandchildren, Alyssa Mize, Danny Michael Mize, Jordan Coleman and Matt Petty; two sisters Claudia Utz of Union Bridge, MD. and Frances O’Keefe of Pocatello, Idaho; two brothers Wayne McGhee and Wendell McGhee of Statenville, GA; and two sisters-in-law Linda Rawls of Dupont, GA. and Shelby Jean Petty of Lafayette, LA. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who were all special to her.

Visiting is at Roundtree Funeral Home in Homerville, GA, Sunday, July 28, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Graveside services will be Monday, July 29, 2024,11 am in the Wayfare Cemetery in Echols County, GA.
