Gavin Chester Robertson

Gavin Chester "Snooks" Robertson, 95, of Crosby, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

He was born January 12, 1931 in Piave, Mississippi, to Samuel Chester Robertson and AnnieBell Helton Robertson.

Snooks attended Crosby High School where he was the first male cheerleader. He spent 40 years working at International Paper Company. He enjoyed fishing with his brother Melvin, hunting with family and growing a large garden.

He was member of Mars Hill Church.

Snooks is survived by two sons Gavin Edward Robertson (Jenny) and Patrick Otis Robertson (Rhonda) and daughter Catherine Grace Cavin (Cliff).

He is survived by 6 grandchildren Candice Barber (Frank), Gavin Jr. "Bo" (Dana), Patrick Jr. (Jacquline), Brandon "B.J." (April), Jason (Rebecca) and Shelbie; 14 great grandchildren; sister Ann Eyrich; brothers Bobby and David Robertson (Billy Jean) and many beloved nieces and nephews and special ladies Lana and Leah Murray, who spent many hours with him and were cherished like family.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years Grace Jackson Robertson, his parents, three brothers Cecil, Melvin and Tom Robertson and two sisters Margaret Smith and Bonnie Brewer.

Graveside services will be held February 2, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. at Union Baptist Church Cemetery, HWY 563 Crosby, MS., with Bro. Warren Whitaker officiating.

Pallbearers are Bo, Patrick, B.J., Jason, Jacob, Ashton Robertson and Colton Nettles.

Honorary Pallbearers are the men of Mars Hill Church, Otis Jackson, Sammy Robertson, Frank Barber, Pink Jones, Sammy Smith and Beaux Gautreau.
