Lois Faye Johnson, age 75, of Rogersville, passed away on May 10, 2025 at Fort Sanders Medical Center.
Lois was born to Willie and Sue Russell on March 21, 1950. She was a member of Spruce Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Mooresburg. Lois was saved when she was 9 years old on a Monday during a revival at Old Spruce Pine Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Sue Russell; grandparents, Harve and Ora Russell and Shelby and Ida Seal; brother, Junior Russell; nephew, Micah Evans.
She is survived by daughter, Sherry (JD) Dyer; grandchildren, Jessica (Michael) Lutz, Brian (Savana) Dyer, Jamie Dyer, Izzy Dyer; great-grandchildren, Riley Lutz, Easton and Eli Dyer, and Carter Lutz; spouse, Freddie Johnson; step-daughter, Rita (Brent) Shelton; step-grandsons, Connor (Faith) Shelton and Kenny Shelton; brother, Larry (Brenda) Russell; sister-in-law, Carolyn Russell; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and special friends, Brenda, Betty, and Charlotte.
The family of Lois wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the ICU nursing staff of Fort Sanders Center of Advanced Medicine.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm with Elder Shane Russell officiating. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 11:00 am in Carpenter Cemetery. Anyone who wishes to follow in the funeral procession is asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:00 am.
Pallbearers will be Larry Russell, Brian Dyer, Michael Lutz, Brian Russell, JD Dyer, and Chuck Ellison. Honorary pallbearers will be Ty Ellison, Bill Jackson, Darrell Ramsey, and Steven Greer.
