Lois Johnson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Skyview Memorial Lawn on Dec. 9, 2025.
Lois "Jean" Johnson [Cary], 91, of Vallejo California was called to her heavenly home on

November 24 th , 2025, holding the hand of her beloved husband of 73 years, John, and

surrounded by the love of her family near and far.

Jean was born in Muleshoe Texas, to Elmer and Johnnye Cary, but she always claimed

Evening Shade, AR where her family eventually settled and she graduated, as

valedictorian, from high school. She went on to Business School in Memphis,

Tennessee where she met the love of her life John W. Johnson. They married on

August 1, 1952, in California and began a lifelong journey together. John and Jean built

a home where love and laughter thrived, adding new spaces as their family blossomed.

She devoted her life to raising five spirited sons with strength, patience, and a caring

heart. After raising their sons, Jean worked as a bookkeeper for MF Mayer. She

laughed about being dubbed the 'meanest mother in town,' a title earned for putting her

boys out to walk home more than once, when the situation required it.

Jean's life was centered around family and church. Many cherished vacations were

spent traveling together, including visiting all 50 states, cruises, and some international

travel. As her travels slowed, family continued to bring adventure to her. Jean's home

was always open-ready to welcome, love, and feed anyone who walked through the

door. And no one left without a HUG!

Jeanie, "J", is survived by her husband, John and her sons John M "Mike" (Val), David

(Michele), Steve (Tonya), Daniel (Helen), and preceded in death by her son, Tim

(Erlinda). Her legacy also continues through her many grandchildren, great-

grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. We take comfort in knowing she was met

with joy by all her dearly departed loved ones including Toni, Tim, and Staci.

Whether you knew her as Jean, Jeanie, Mom, Grandma, GiGi, Aunt Jeanie, Momma

Jean, Mrs. Johnson may you always remember her beautiful laugh, kindness,

meaningful hugs, and, most importantly, her love of God and her family. Though she will

be deeply missed, she filled our lives with memories we will cherish forever.

Proverbs 31:28-29

28 Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her: 29 "There are many

virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!"

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jean's life on January 10 th , 2026, at 10:00AM

at Castlewood Baptist Church, 3615 Georgia St, Vallejo, CA 94591 with fellowship to

follow at the church.
