We remember with love, Dolores Vernice Pullen, a witty, supportive, loving, and funny woman who touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Born on July 23, 1948, in
Vallejo, California, Dolores filled her 77 years with laughter, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to those she loved. Known for her quick wit and playful sense of humor, Dolores had a knack for making people smile, even on their hardest days. Her laughter and spirit were infectious.
In her professional life, Dolores served as a civilian worker at Hill Air Force Base, a role she performed dutifully for 35 years until her retirement in 2001. Outside of work, Dolores was an avid reader, crossword puzzle enthusiast, and a passionate advocate for animals (dogs, cats, and dolphins included). Dolores was known for her loving nature and support to others, a quality that extended to her four-legged friends as well. Her joy was in celebrating key achievements of her family members and in the last couple of years, she was often seen roaming around the care facility, joking with others in her electric wheelchair.
Above all else, Dolores was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a constant source of support and love for her family, which includes her daughter, Jeanne Walker; her son, Larry Richard "Rick" Pullen Jr.; her grandchildren, Shayla Sanguinetti (Gary), Tia Walker (Edgar), Eric Walker II; and many family and friends. Dolores was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry Pullen; her parents, James and Wilma May; her brother, James May Jr. and other dear friends and family. Her love, laughter, and light will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew her.
In the wise words of Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Dolores made us all feel loved, supported, and cherished, and for that, we are grateful.
