Betty Lois Joseph, a longtime resident of Ocoee, Florida, passed away and went to be with her Lord on February 22, 2026. She was 81 years old.
A Life of Service and Growth:
Born on June 10, 1944, in Samson, Alabama, to the late Elmer and Helen Cardwell, Lois carried the values of hard work and kindness throughout her life. She was well-known for her "green thumb" and found great peace working in her yard and flower garden, where she possessed the rare gift of being able to make anything grow.
Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her garden and flowers. For ten years (2009–2019), Lois served as the beloved "Lunch Lady" at Light Christian Academy. To the students, she was more than a cafeteria worker; she was "Aunt Lois" a favorite face who cooked with love and held a special place in her heart for every child she served.
Family and Legacy:
Lois was a woman who would do anything to help others. She is preceded in death by her husband, Claude Joseph, and her parents, Elmer and Helen Cardwell.
She is survived by her two sisters, Betty Sue Crider and Betty Joyce Heigle, along with numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends who will miss her deeply.
