Lois Irene Langtry, age 97, of Flushing, MI passed away at home peacefully Saturday, June 15, surrounded by her daughters. The family would like to sincerely thank Swan (Hospice), Jamie, Amber, Cora, Tammy and Chaplain Tom for their compassion and support. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be announced at a later date and held at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Lois was born in Boyne City, MI, November 30, 1926, the daughter of Leona and Howard Thayer. She was a graduate of Boyne City High School, Class of 1944, then she attended Hurley Nursing School and graduated in 1947. After graduation she was employed with McLaren Hospital in Labor and Delivery and taught childbirth classes, retiring from McLaren in 1988. Lois was joined in marriage to Richard Bennett Langtry who preceded her in death, they were married 67 cherished years. Lois enjoyed crocheting, gardening, knitting and most of all spending time with her family. Lois will be missed by all and never forgotten. She is survived by her daughter Deborah Atkinson, Kathleen Quintanilla, Patricia Langtry and Kimberly (Matthew) Courts, brothers Don Thayer, Chuck Thayer, grandchildren Brian Bright, Dan (Lisa) Atkinson, Dellana Frecking, Ashley (Mike) Atkinson/Akins, Chad (Michelle) Quintanilla, Victoria(Larry) Kinzie, Christopher Langtry, Brandon (Michelle) Courts, Kyle (Nikki) Courts, great grandchildren Tyler, Brian II, Hayley, Ben, Harris, Mira, Madix, Weston, Dashel, Reed, Chloe, Sophia, Ella, Kylie, Kendra and Skyler, many nieces, Nephews and her dog Gabby. Lois was preceded in death by her husband Richard, parents Howard and Leona Thayer, brothers William Thayer, Robert Thayer, Irvin Thayer, sisters Audrey Scott, Charlotte "Ann" White, Carrie Jane Allen, Phylis Elaine Hardy and Patricia May Snedeker.
