Lois M. Lokie, age 97, of Lincoln, NE, passed away January 8, 2026. Lois was surrounded by family in her final days at Bryan East Hospital.

Lois was born November 28, 1928, in McPherson, Kansas, the daughter of Johnny V. and Ida (Nightingale) Decker. Lois graduated as the salutatorian in 1946 from Galva (Kansas) High School, excelling academically and raised in a family that loved music, playing cards and dancing. Lois was married to Neil D. Lokie, spending her time as a homemaker raising four children in Auburn, NE.

The staff at Madonna Long Term Care, where Lois lived the last 11 years, commented on how much they enjoyed Lois’ wit and spitfire determination. She was active in the recreation programs like bingo games and anything musical like chime choir.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny & Ida Decker; step-mother, Hazel (Crossen) Decker; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Benny Paden; sister-in-law, Norma (Alexander) Decker; and grandson, Aaron Lokie.

Lois is survived by children, Greg Lokie of Lincoln, NE, Pam (Dale) Gadeken of Lincoln, NE, Jerry (Sharon) Lokie of Deshler, NE, and Judith (Leonard) Glover of Waverly, NE; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and DeAnn Decker of Galva, KS; grandchildren, Tyson (Candice) Glover of Waverly, NE, Jill Scarf of Lincoln, NE, John Gadeken (Beverly Pinkerton) of Ashland, NE, Courtney Young of Waverly, NE, Steven Lokie of England, Rachel (Wes) Niemann of Dwight, NE, Kayla Lokie of Lincoln, NE, Cari (Cristin) Stammler of Missouri, and Ben Lokie (Tosha Carter) of Utah; as well as many beloved great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A family service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, January 19, 2026, at Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson, KS followed by an interment at Empire Cemetery, Galva, KS.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be payable to Pam Gadeken for future designation in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
