Lois J. (Crow) Reed, 81, formerly of Kirtland Hills, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2025, surrounded by her family, at her home.
Born October 10, 1944 in Cleveland, she had lived in Kirtland Hills for more 20 years.
She was an animal lover and volunteered at the Lake Humane Society and Geauga Rescue Village. She was an avid boater and enjoyed riding her husband’s motorcycle, visiting parks, Lake FarmPark and walking in the woods; working outside, picking up sticks and making a fire. She most enjoyed taking care of her family and also did a solo flight in a private plane, travelling, taking cruises and dancing.
She retired from the former Executone telephone company, retiring in 1991.
Survivors are her husband of 60 years, Russell; daughters, Marlene Knopsnider and Laura Reed; grandsons, Vaughn Loudermilk and Quinlan McClain and sister, Jackie Wheeler. She also leaves her former son-in-law, David.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Geraldine (Dickerhoff) Crow.
Private family burial will be in Whitehaven Memorial Park, Mayfield Village.
The family will plan a celebration of her life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to the Geauga County Dog Warden, 12513 Merritt Road, Chardon, OH 44024.
