Lois Jean Reilly, age 91, of Sault Ste. Marie, MI passed away Friday morning, November
19th, 2021, at her home.
"There are few things more powerful than the faithful prayers of a righteous mother"
Lois' faith in Jesus and her unending prayers for her children paved the way for her children to
accept Jesus into their lives. She will be deeply missed but grateful she is with her best friend.
Lois was born on August 18, 1930, in Niles Michigan, the daughter of the late Eldon and
Lorraine (Haas) Reed. On April 7, 1951, she married a good God-fearing man that she loved
deeply, Raymond Edward Reilly in Buchanan Michigan and enjoyed 60 years together before he
passed. She earned her bachelor's degree and master's degree from Michigan State University.
Lois was an elementary school teacher and she taught all grades from kindergarten to sixth
before settling into a permanent third grade position. She was active in the lives of all the children
she taught. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her church friends. She also
spent every minute she could with her nine children. But most of all she loved the Lord Jesus
Christ, her best friend.
She was a mother of 9: three sons: Steve Reilly and wife Huyen of New York, Brian Reilly
and wife Ginny of Texas, and Sean Reilly of Sault Ste. Marie; six daughters: Karen Murray
(deceased) of Sault Ste. Marie, Christine Moore and husband Howard of Colorado, Diane
Possamai and husband Mark of Sault Ste. Marie, Raelene Reilly and husband Terry LaLonde of
Autrain Michigan, Marianne Sebastian and husband Ken of Sault Ste. Marie, and Susan Kerst and
husband Brad of Washington; 31 grandchildren and many many great, grandchildren.
Private funeral services for family and friends will be held on December 11th, 2021, at the
"Reilly" home from 2-4pm with burial at the Reilly cemetery.
We would like to send our sincerest thank you and deepest gratitude to Diane (Atkinson)
Johnson who was her live-in caretaker. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Hospice of the EUP.
